Nick Maley

Founder of The Force For Good

Known affectionately worldwide as 'that Yoda Guy" for his contribution to the creation of Yoda for Star Wars, Nick Maley founded The Force for Good to inspire compassion, unity, and positive action in everyday life.

"When we made Star Wars, George Lucas said, the saga was not about lightsabers and X-Wings. It was about compassionate people resisting selfish people. Unfortunately today so many people think it is Okay to be Darth Vader, as if bullying and selfishness are virtues," Nick explains. "The Force For Good hopes to restore balance and promote understanding."

A kid from social housing in the UK, Nick's life reads like a romantic novel. He fought against dyslexia and attention deficit at a time nobody recognized those issues, and through positive determination become a leading movie  Character FX Designer contributing to over 60 movie projects such as The Shinning, Superman, Highlander, Krull, Lifeforce and the Star Wars Classic Trilogy. He is an artist, author, motivational speaker, and founder of the Follow Your Star Foundation in Sint Maarten with The Yoda Guy Movie Experience as an initial source of funding.

Over the years Nick's reputation as a motivator has become legendary. See what people say on Google about meeting him. His focus has largely been on encouraging youngsters to live extraordinary lives and oldsters to get out of the rut and find new purpose. Reviews of the exhibit frequently extol Nick's efforts to be kind, approachable, and for inspiring visitor's kids, along with prospective movie makers and (naturally) Star Wars fans.

As Nick passed his mid seventies, he realized that to make a real difference in a world where self interest and corporate gain are constantly given preference over basic humanity, he needed help. Help to achieve a wider impact globally. Help to raise funds for those who can't help themselves. Help to continue this cause for peace, harmony and compassion, when he is no longer with us. And so, The Force For Good was conceived.

"Call me vain if you want," Nick says, "but I'd like to leave this world a little better than it was when I got here."

As Guardian of the organization’s mission, and visionary guide, he encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to embrace empathy, to give back a little service for the blessings in their lives. Use the power of kindness to uplift others. Through volunteerism, charitable giving, and community projects, Nick continues to champion a simple belief: that every person has the power to be a Force for Good in the galaxy we all share.
